  2. THE 150th RUNNING OF THE QUEEN’S PLATE..
    That means it was started in 1860..??

    The oldest South African race in my records, is the Derby
    which was started at Fairview in Port Elizabeth in 1885,
    later transferred to Jo’Burg in 1907.

    If anyone has records of the winners of these early runnings of the Queen’s Plate , I’d love to get them.

    I suppose FAMILY TABLES would also be interested.

    I suppose this is what I get for relying on second-hand
    information from racing “experts”
