  1. Are Sri Lanka jockeys as bad as they look in the picture? If yes, what are they doing about it? Surely, if horses from that part of the world are competing in international meetings this is a handicap. Doesn’t it?

      They are indeed not up to international standards because the “industry” there is a shambles of what it once was, even as lately as 30-40 years ago when such trainers as the Selvaratnams—now doing so well for the sheikhs in Dubai–were prominent. Sri Lanka’s racing was decimated by a civil war and changing mores once the country became more nationalistic and less “colonial.”
