  1. fractions don’t add up in this race sid…137+ mile does not make a 223-224 1.5 mile…my eye saw 214+ flash with an 1/8th to go…doubt she covered the last 1/8th in 9+ seconds..that’s a 18-19 second quarter mile speed at the end of a 1.5 mile race! Improbable!!! Nice filly though and do not mean to detract from her accomplishment.

  2. they went 2000 meters in 2:01.53, which means she had to finish up 2400 meters in :22.39 — not impossible.

They don’t post the 200-meter fractions, so your naked eye could be off; they do post the 400-meter fractions, and 2:01.53 was posted.

    Interesting. Thanks for the opinion.

  3. Sid:
Forget the chart, watch the replay. They post a intermediate marking before the wire with a line “dubbed in” across the track like they do in the NFL for first downs…the timer is is also on the screen. it is not a big deal but that is a very fast time on any surface for fillies.

Hearing anything about Langfuhr or Forestry. Small/part/first-time breeder with stakes placed winning turf mare. o/f full sister to candy ride, sire forty niner line. trained myself which really held her performances back (would be like me coaching the yankee’s pitchers).

know you are high on indygo shiner but heard the jock claim they “could not get the distance” in dubai last spring. not that it was a cheap race or anything but they were not confident which turned me off a bit.

like reading your stuff especially S.A . info…..they do a tremendous job breeding horses..they make it work with what many would consider to be second class stock….beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
    thanks. jac tomasello
