(Major Srinivas Nargolkar sent in the following news and notes from India. Much of this was tweeted earlier. A few days ago, I also tweeted the news in from the major that the Phipps Grade 1 winner Dancing Forever was headed to India. It is at the end of this post.)
Equitable (by A.P. Indy; himself 3rd in United Nations Handicap, Gr.1) is reportedly coming to India. I hear that he has been purchased by Mr. H.S. Dhillon, who holds the distinction of importing the first son of Mr. Prospector — a horse called Meteorologist — to India. Equitable will be the first son of A.P.Indy. Mr. Dhillon is a very pleasant man, totally enamoured with American racing. His stud — Track Supreme Stud — is located on the Punjab-Rajasthan border. Mr. Dhillon produces excellent Kinnows — a variety of oranges — but is yet to produce a good horse. There is talk, however, that Equitable will actually stand at A.B. Stud in Punjab. That is a much better establishment from which a steady stream of good winners flows. A.B. Stud’s new stallion, the former Juddmonte horse Epicentre (by Kris S.), has had his first runners recently and three of them are winners.
