He defeated Lane’s End’s Mineshaft by a narrow margin, with Spendthrift’s Malibu Moon in third. US-bred sires dominated the standings in Russia, where racing is conducted on dirt and synthetic surfaces only. The leading horse in Russia is Mineshaft’s son Monomakh.
