Diego Mitagstein, editor of Turf Diario, sent this in from Argentina. The 5-year-old Mr. Greeley mare Period, who was bred by Pin Oak Stud in Kentucky and was unplaced in 4 starts in the US, won the Listed Clasico Espirita today at San Isidro to become a new black type winner. Period had run 2nd in 4 consecutive Group races before today. Out of the Sky Classic mare End of Story, Period was sold as a 4-year-old broodmare prospect by Pin Oak at the 2008 Keeneland January sale for $11,000. Period’s 3rd dam is Miss Carmie, dam of Chris Evert and All Rainbows. This is the family of Chief’s Crown and Winning Colors, among other top-class stakes winners.
