Aussie whip rule is finding favor from all industry segments

  1. If flogging is not banned here, it will continue to turn-off spectators.

Aside from the obvious cruelty, bettors will eventually realize more races are lost than are won by use of the whip. Vineyard Haven’s recent disqualification is a good example.

Moreover, there is no such thing as a “humane” whip. A contradiction in terms.

  2. Australians have always been prone to go on strike. Any minor issue can cause a strike. If the ARB hangs tough, the jockeys will be back on horses in a few dys.
