Polish-bred Age of Jape, the Czech 2000 Guineas and Derby winner who last out won the Slovakian Derby at Bratislava, goes for the Czech triple crown Sunday in Prague at Velka Chuchle when he tackles 12 others in the 2800-meter Tattersalls St. Leger. The son of leading Polish sire Jape has won 8 races from 9 starts, all 5 starts this year, and has not lost since he ran second in his debut at Warsaw last year.
The 64th St. Leger is the featured event of the day and of the the autumn meet when racing resumes at Velka Chuchle Sunday after the traditional summer break. Age of Jape has won at the Derby distances of 2400 meters, but the extra 400 meters is expected to test him despite being listed as an odds-on favorite.
