There’s only one internationally recognized Group race in Denmark, according to International Cataloguing Standards. It’s the Group 3 Scandinavian Open Championship over 2400 meters at Klampenborg, a race usually won by foreign raiders. Today, the Danish-bred Peas and Carrots, a 6-year-old son of the Danish-based Sadler’s Wells stallion Final Appearance, made history by winning the race by a half length.
Final Appearance won only once from 5 starts, but he’s been a leading sire in Denmark. Peas and Carrots won the Danish Derby in 2006.
