The top Russian 3-year-old colt at the moment is US-bred Quiet and Danger, an undefeated son of Quiet American and the Grade 2 winner Lemhi Go who is a favorite for the Russian Derby. Eugene Kappushev, a Russian turf editor, provided the video link from his website. His take on Quiet and Danger: “It is not obvious that he is able to stay 1 1/2 miles. However he showed real class in the first race beating the best horses of the country. His owner is Saeedhusein Zakayev from (close to the President, ). He started his ownership in 1998 and won the Russian Derby in 2000 with Arcansas (by Al Batal).”
Turf journalist Frank Mitchell now owns Lemhi Go and he bred Quiet and Danger in partnership with Darley. Frank solely owns Lemhi Go’s two subsequent foals, full brothers by Woodman. One is 2, the other is a yearling.
