The Brazilian-bred Hot Six, a son of the English-bred Danzig stallion Burooj out of the With Approval mare Babysix, won the 25th edition of the Group 1 Gran Premio Asociacion Latinoamericana de Jockey Clubes e Hipodromos at Sao Paulo’s Cidade Jardim racecourse today. The Latinoamericana is one of South America’s most prestigious races, and it is conducted at a different South American track each year. Hot Six completed the 2000-meter turf race in 2:03.04 and won by 5 lengths from US-bred Zeide Isaac, a son of Freud. Argentina’s Group 1 Pellegrini winner Life of Victory was 4th. The race was marred by the breakdown of Flymetothemoon, who took out two other runners as well. Flymetothemoon’s jockey, leading Brazilian rider Jorge Ricardo, was seriously hurt and is expected to be out for three months.
