The Roberto sire line enjoyed a globally successful classics haul Sunday with Dynaformer’s daughter Blue Bunting first in the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh (see video below), Philanthropist’s Pender Harbour winner of the Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Eirie (see vid below), Major Impact’s Pronto Pronto the hero of the Kingfisher Derby Bangalore (see post below), and Casual Lies’ Clint winner of the Emirates Singapore Derby at Kranji. Each of the races Sunday was at a distance of 1 3/16 miles or more—distance is the forte of the Roberto sire line—and each classic winner nailed the win in the last few strides, in a photo finish.
[Nereid, by Rock Hard Ten, dead-heated for first in the Grade 1 American Oaks at Hollywood Park Saturday, too, though the 10-furlong turf race isn't considered a "classic."]
