As Uncle Mo, our undefeated 3-year-old star, prepares for his season debut and a tilt at the classics, England’s equally gifted and hyped Frankel readies for the Guineas across the pond. Writer Emma Berry, camera in hand and ubiquitous on the Newmarket Heath, took these photos this morning at 7:30 AM on Warren Hill. Henry Cecil’s Warren Place star will reportedly debut April 16 at Newbury in a Group 3 event as a prep for the Guineas. Cecil, who is on Twitter as @WarrenPlace, tweeted this recently: “So far, Frankel is pleasing me. He has grown, seems to have matured mentally and settled down.” Read here for background information on Frankel. [Frankel is the colt with the Figure-8 noseband in the center in the group photo.]

What superb photos…evocative and athletic. Frankel’s looking quite fit.
Nice post. The more we know about Frankel, the more we appreciate his exceptional sire, Galileo.
He and Uncle Mo would make a very exciting match in the Breeders’ Cup, if we get that far.
Cheers,
Frank

I just love this horse. I hope he turns out to be something special!!!
Will be very interesting to see what Roderic O’Connor, bred on same cross as Frankel, can do this year. Looked tiny in the paddock before the Dewhurst, especially next to the massive Dream Ahead, but clearly has plenty of talent.
