South African sprinter J J the Jet Plane won the Group 3 Al Quoz at Nad Al Sheba today over 1200 meters on turf like a champion and confirmed his dirt loss here on Feb. 12 was surface related. Breaking sharply and a few lengths clear in an instant, the son of Jet Master was given a confident ride by Kevin Shea for trainer Mike de Kock. After leading down the backside through the first 300 meters, Shea allowed Instant Recall to take over on his outside and lead into the turn. Still tucked on the rail and travelling easily, Shea moved J J the Jet Plane to the outside of Instant Recall in the straight, measured the challenges, and rode hard when he needed to over the last 100 meters to win by a length. Godolphin won the UAE Oaks with Devotee. The favorite, UAE 1000 Guineas winner So Shiny, once again raced with her head held sideways, was obviously rank on the front end, and had nothing for the stretch run. She was full of run in the Guineas but folded meekly here. She’s the second Jerry Barton-trained filly — following Deem a week ago — to come back and disappoint. Click here for the chart.

That Cowles guy had a major fit at the track when his horse lost a race. I mean MAJOR. He was callin it every four letter word in the book. A guy like that shouldnt own horses.
Cowles runs cheap horses in Kentucky too. Thats where I saw him.
