Here’s the complete order of finish for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, courtesy of my blogger friend Futeki, who also has found the original Saudi program that lists the full field (including the one mystery horse). The final time of the race was 2:29.07. Favored Joe Louis (Arg) finished 3rd. Neil Bruss trained the winner, Muller (Arg), and runner-up, Paris Perfect (SAf).
The first four home by program numbers were: 9-12-1-5

Dear friends, this was the article about the King’s Cup published by Turf Diario…Thanks and regard for everybody…Diego
Augusto Olivares’s voice was a pure euphoria. ” I have just spoken with Claudio to give him so big news, he was very happy “, was saying exultant one of the right-hand men in horse racing for Pizarro, Claudio, the notable forward of the Peruvian selection of football.
It was not for less, was doing only a few minutes Muller, the Argentine horse that was champion in Monterrico with the silks of the stud El Catorce had earned the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup (G1-2400 m, sand) in the racetrack Al-Janadriah, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Also known as the King’s Cup, it is the Pellegrini in those lands and, thankfully, again it had to the ceiling of the scoreboard to a horse arisen from Buenos Aires fields.
It was not quite, was 1-3 for the national upbringing so Joe Louis, who had won in the edition of last year of the same competition, returned to have a significant task completing the podium. Among both there came the German Paris Perfect (Muhtafal).
Muller, a son of this notable horse who was El Compinche -died early when his babies began to come out- and Martina Girl, this one for another star as Mat Boy, had his great night in Saudi Arabia, demonstrating that the champion’s fire yet runs for his blood.
Winner of all the big tests in Monterrico’s selective process, in Peru, during 2007, now called Alsaqeer – good is worth remembering that there it is very common that the names of the horses are changed – he managed reponerse after giving good results below his level last year.
Already he had given samples of his recovery one month behind, when he yielded for scanty margin before the ownJoe Louis in the Crown Prince Cup (G2).
Muller overcame for half a body Paris Perfect, with Sebastián Madrid’s driving and the training of the South African Neil Bruss, imposing a time of 2m29s7/100.

I uploaded the video here.

Sorry but Turf diary is wrong about the 2nd horse PARIS PERFECT (by Muhtafal – an onw brother to Afleet – both by Mr Prospector). Paris Perfect is not a German horse, he is a South African horse – he won 10 of 17 starts there and had won his first start in Saudi to be victor in 6 of his last 8 starts going into the Kings Cup. His rider carried 3 lbs overweight and he was beaten a 1/2 length, so probably should have won. The rematch will be in the $6m Dubai
World Cup G1 where 1-2-3 will all meet again. My brother Neil Bruss trains both 1st and 2nd.

Robin:
I know that Turf Diario was wrong, but we had it right on here. In fact, if you read all the articles on here on the King’s Cup, you will see that we were the first to report all the news on it, including your brother’s success with the colt. In fact, in an earlier article we noted that Neil was getting the colt ready for the King’s Cup, and we noted his win and loss in Saudi Arabia prior to his excellent 2nd.
Best of luck to him in the big race.
